Tramore May meeting

In May we are privileged to have a guided tour of Mount Congreve Gardens. This visit had to be cancelled last year due to the temporary closure of the gardens and so we are delighted to be able to reschedule it for a visit at what is the optimum time for these famous gardens with their rhododendrons and azaleas. There is also the walled kitchen garden which has been brought to life again this year. We will meet at the visitor car park for the gardens at 7.30 pm.
xGIY Tramore first met on the auspicious date 1/4/09, April Fools' Day! We now have a mailing list of over 200 and a lively turn-out for our regular monthly meetings. We usually meet on the second Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm in O'Shea's Hotel in the centre of Tramore but the venue can vary, so check on the event list for up-to-date information.
GIY Tramore also has a visible presence in the town in the form of a demonstration garden. In the junction between Upper and Lower Branch Road, there is a bed which has been adopted by the local group. It serves as an example of what can be produced in a small space and can look attractive as well. Any produce ripe for picking is there for anyone who would like it.
