Adventure #7 The Waterford Book Launch
The Books Centre Waterford 24th October
I’ve loved Waterford’s Book Centre since I first stepped inside.
It’s a magical place with winding staircases, secret place, tea and a chocolate counter. The perfect place to launch Waterford’s own Grow Cook Eat with all profits going into fundraising for the new HQ in Waterford. Grow HQ will be so good for the area bringing jobs, tourists, food and education.
It was great to just rock up to the shop as everything had been organised for us. Oliver Carroll did the comparing he’s a famous guy locally because he’s on local radio (he has a fantastic voice) so Michael got to do his GIY,GROW HQ speech. There was another famous chef there and all Waterford GIYers ever, it was lovely to see everyone coming together for GIY. Oh and there was more wine.
It was really successful, a great atmosphere and Mick was clearly happy. I had some great chats with Fergal from the GIY board of trustees he always makes me laugh and so apparently does his wife who I met later the pub.
Some more team bonding then occurred at the pub (very important for moral) and I met some more folk musicians who had more sessions in mind. I like Ireland…
